Thanks, I use SCOM2NAGIOS for some time now and it is a very usefull solution. However the usage of nsca protocol gives some limitations because it only allows for one text field while the original SCOM alert contains a lot of different fields. It could be of great help if it should be possible to combine some SCOM alert variables and some free format text in the output text field. Maybe this is already possible but I couldn’t find clear instructions about changing procedures.xml.
Any guidance would be appreciated

Hi,

the other way around is more difficult because you have an object model in OpsMgr and not a flat model like in Icinga/Nagios. As I stated in an other comment it may be possible with the universal connector framework (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd795248.aspx) but i haven’t tried it. On the other hand it may be a licensing problem because to my understanding every device in SCOM that is higher than layer 2 has to be licensed.

If you find any other solution I am happy to hear about it.

I have seen your scom2nagios comments on the technet blog.
So I have a question for you. Is it possible to do the opposite ?
I want to send the alerts from nagios to my scom console.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me where I can find additional information how procedures.xml works. I copied this file to the release directory but it doesn’t seem to work. The text for resolved alerts is “Alles OK”, but the processor.xml file contains the string “Everything is OK”. The logfile tracelog.txt shows : “Processor : no processing definition set”

Are any instructions available to debug what happens on a Windows 2008 R2 server running SCOM2012? For me the send_nsca works fine but I can’t get it working through the product connector.
